About cell-free

Allocation

The allocation of donated tissue is subject to very different regulations across Europe. In some European countries, tissue donation is coordinated by central or regional allocation organizations, while, in other regions or states, procurement organizations have assumed this responsibility. Usually, the procurement organization coordinates allocation of human decellularized heart valves.

Corlife works exclusively with organizations, which meet the requirements of the European Tissue Directives. The procurement organization is responsible for appropriate donor selection and assessment of the tissue donations. The tissue is send to corlife in standardized dispatch units, which are provided by corlife

Corlife processes the tissues according to an approved procedure for cell-free implants, which are suitable for transplantation. The procurement organization is kept informed at all stages of the process. The cell-free heart valve is shipped after release back to the procurement organization or to a clinic.
